Privacy Policy

SoftBillo is built and operated by MetaEdx Inc, incorporated in Delaware, United States, together with its United Kingdom subsidiary MetaEdx Technologies Ltd. Between us we provide the SoftBillo invoicing, bookkeeping and business management software at softbillo.com and in our apps. Throughout this policy, "SoftBillo", "we" and "us" mean whichever of those two entities is your controller, as set out below.

We act as a data controller for your account data, and as a data processor for the financial records, documents and client information you create or upload — that material stays yours.

Which entity is responsible for your personal data depends on where you are:

• United Kingdom, Ireland and the European Union — MetaEdx Technologies Ltd, our UK entity, is your controller and acts as our UK/EU representative for data protection matters.
• United States and everywhere else — MetaEdx Inc (Delaware, USA) is your controller.

Either way you reach us at the same address: privacy@softbillo.com. Your rights under this policy are the same whichever entity holds your data.

• Account data — your name, email, password hash and workspace settings.
• Business data — invoices, clients, expenses and any documents you upload.
• Connected accounts — credentials and metadata for payment providers and accounting tools you connect.
• Usage data — device, browser, IP and basic analytics needed to keep the service running.

• To provide the service you signed up for.
• To improve reliability, security and product quality.
• To send you transactional emails (receipts, alerts) and — only with your consent — product updates.
• To meet our legal and tax obligations.

We do not sell your data. Ever.

Your data is hosted with reputable cloud providers, encrypted in transit and at rest. Because our two entities operate one platform, data may be transferred between the UK, the EU and the United States; those transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses between MetaEdx Technologies Ltd and MetaEdx Inc. Access is restricted to a small number of vetted staff who need it for support or operations.

We keep your data while your account is active. After cancellation we keep it for 90 days so you can re-activate or export, then we permanently delete it (except where law requires us to retain it longer — e.g. invoices for accounting purposes).

You can access, export, correct or delete your data from inside the app. EU/UK users may also request data portability or object to processing — email privacy@softbillo.com and MetaEdx Technologies Ltd will handle the request.

We rely on a small set of trusted subprocessors (cloud hosting, payment providers, email delivery, error monitoring). A current list is available on request.
